Mark Ryan, DVM

Practice Owner

Dr. Mark Ryan is a Grand Junction native and a Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine Graduate, Class of 1987 Graduate. He has been practicing veterinary medicine and surgery for 35 years. In his many years of practice, he has been a relief vet, an associate vet, a practice owner, and a veterinary consultant. He has worked with all kinds of animals. Large animals, small animals, exotics, avian, and wildlife. And he still loves his job. He very much appreciates, and supports, the bond between his clients, and their pets. He appreciates that he has helped develop a great veterinary medicine culture here at Monument View, that puts our pets first. He is very grateful for his incredible clients, their exceptional pets, his incredible staff, his incredible partners, and our culture. Dr. Ryan is, number one, an advocate for your pet. His focus is on what they need. 

He is blessed to be a part of a beautiful family. Wife, Karen. Two incredible kids, Emma (16) and Jack (15). Loving dogs, Ghillie (Black Labrador female), and Franchessca (Franchi or Frankie, an Italian Spinone). A demanding cat, Mao (a black short haired 15-year-old cat). And a Western Box Turtle, Sprocket.

Dr. Ryan enjoys camping with his family, skiing, and hiking up the mountains with his rifle and wading through rivers with his fly rod. Always, hopeful. Happy with the pursuit. Grateful for the opportunity.  Grateful to be practicing medicine. Involved in the local community. Kiwanis Club focuses on improving our world, one child and one community, at a time. MVVH supports the Kiwanis Alert Service Dog Program that takes care of the alert dogs that take care of Type I Diabetic children and epileptic children. He is a member of the Mesa County Animal Services Advisory Board. Chapter Representative (multiple counties of Western Colorado) of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Society. Member of the American Veterinary Medical Association

Justin Seely, DVM

Practice Owner

Dr. Justin Seely grew up in western Colorado on a large sheep and cattle ranch. Initially planning to go to medical school, he decided early in college his background and interests were better suited to veterinary medicine.  He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 1996.  After graduation he practiced equine medicine and surgery for 3 ½ years before making the switch to small animal medicine. Dr. Seely was involved in corporate veterinary practice for 20 years before teaming up with Dr. Mark Ryan and Miranda Schroeder CVT to start Monument View Veterinary Hospital. His practice interests are internal medicine and dentistry but enjoys all facets of small animal medicine and surgery. In his spare-time he enjoys waterskiing, mountain biking, hiking with his dogs and spending time with his family—wife Lynn and three children, Jacob, Jared and Kaelen. Dr. Seely’s four-footed family include one cat, “Gussie” and three dogs—a rat terrier named “Heidi”, a pit-bull mix named “Lola”, and the canine love of his life, “Paizley”, a Golden Retriever.

Sue Shivers, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Sue Shivers joined MVVH in late 2021. Previously she owned Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital in Iowa. She earned her DVM from Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Dr. Shivers grew up in central Iowa and practiced for several years at a mixed-animal practice in upstate New York, a small animal clinic in Burlington, and an emergency clinic in the Quad Cities before moving back to Iowa, then to Utah. She is very active in her personal life and enjoys running, riding, and climbing. Dr. Shivers has completed two Ironman competitions with her most recent conquest of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. She keeps up with her son, husband, two Golden Retrievers, lots of cats, horses and chickens.

Miranda Schroeder, CVT

Practice Manager and Owner

Our Practice Manager Miranda has been in the veterinary industry since 2010. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster College in 2014. Her passion for animals and helping people who love animals drew her to veterinary medicine after working in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator. Being a part owner of Monument View Veterinary Hospital is literally a dream come true for Miranda. When she isn't working, Miranda enjoys spending time with her amazing and supportive husband. Together they enjoy traveling, scuba diving, snowmobiling, and spending time with their family and pets. Miranda’s furry family members include two Pit Bulls- Skylee and Stallone, a Blue Heeler named Sydney, a French Bulldog named Squishy, and two horses, Jewel and Bonita.

Misty Roller

Hospital Leader

Misty has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years, the majority of them working alongside Dr. Seely taking care of pets and forming lasting bonds with their owners. 
She graduated Mesa State College with a Bachelor degree in Business Management and an Associates degree in Business Administration.

When not at work, Misty enjoys spending time helping at the family farm and being outdoors kayaking, camping, four wheeling, shooting, and sightseeing with her husband. She is a pitbull advocate and loves spending time with Squirrel, their adopted 11 year old pittie that loves to go everywhere and get belly rubs from everyone she meets.

Megan Essman

Veterinary Team Leader

Megan has been in veterinary medicine for 10 years. She began her career at Animal Medical Clinic and is a well known, friendly face in Grand Junction. Loving animals all of her life she was drawn to work as a veterinary technician. In her home life she is a mother of 1 and passes her passion to her daughter, Amelia. At home Megan and Amelia have 4 dogs, 5 cats, 2 rats, a guinea pig and an aquarium. Being a Colorado native her joys include camping, fishing, boating, and dirt biking. Megan is a knowledgeable, caring, and fun addition to MVVH. 


Veterinary Assistant

Arielle is a Colorado native and has lived in Colorado her whole life. Her husband Mike is also a Colorado native.

Arielle currently resides with a menagerie of animals including 7 cats of varying breeds including 2 Maine Coons (Harley and Kono), a Norwegian Forest cat (Gobo), a Siamese (Lux), a Burmese (Kasha), a Persian (Cleo), and a Domestic Shorthair (Moki), 2 dogs that are Labrador/Pit Bull mixes (Kainin and Keerah),  a rabbit (named Cadbury), a western painted turtle (named Philbert) and 4 aquariums of a variety of fish.

Arielle enjoys working/rebuilding cars and drag racing, riding motorcycles, baseball, indoor gardening/house plants, reading, watching comedy and horror movies, painting/drawing, and knitting.

Halloween is her favorite holiday.

Arielle started pursuing a career as a veterinary assistant after working at Mesa County Animal Services and seeing a need for medical care for the stray animals in the care of the shelter.

Arielle has been working as a veterinary assistant since 2012 and can’t imagine work doing anything else. There is always a need for care in animals and she loves being able to help them. Arielle as been with Monument View Veterinary Hospital since the doors opened in November 2020.



Veterinary Assistant

Ashley was born and raised in Roswell, NM with a love for  animals. She attended college to become a nurse, but quickly realized her passion was in Veterinary Medicine. She has been in the medical field since 2014, and she loves working with exotic animals and wildlife. She spends her time outside of work with her son, her 2 dogs, and her kitty. She loves exploring the mountains on hikes, and when its warm out, you can always find her in the water.



Client Care Coordinator

Brandi Veltri was born and raised in Salida, Colorado where she worked as a Funeral Director/Chief Deputy Coroner for over seven years until deciding it was time for a change. She, her husband Brent, their pug Ricky and two kitties moved to Grand Junction in October 2021.

As a Client Care Coordinator, this is her first pursuit in the vet med field, but she did manage the satellite location of Chaffee County’s humane society for several years. She has always loved animals ever since she was young and has a soft spot for feral cats and is passionate about TNR programs.

Her hobbies include going on adventures with her husband, reading, shopping, playing her Nintendo Switch (her favorite game is Animal Crossing) and hanging out with her sister who also happens to be her next-door neighbor. In her past time, she likes to explore local cemeteries. 


Veterinary Assistant and Client Care Coordinator

Heather Silva grew up in Grand Junction Colorado and has a pomeranian named Ghost. Throughout her childhood she had a passion for animals and started working as a kennel technician at a local boarding kennel after high school. From there she has worked her way into becoming a Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist. Heather has been with Monument View from the very start. She loves her job and appreciates the Doctor's and coworkers for helping her learn and grow!


Veterinary Assistant

Nikole is a technician that recently moved from South Carolina.  Prior to that she has been working in veterinary medicine for 15yrs. Around the hospital she is known for her wonderful feline handling skills. On her time off she enjoys riding horses and spending time with her family.  Nikole loves animals of all species, and is a lucky owner of lots of critters, large and small. She is an outgoing individual that is enthused  to be a part of MVVH team.


Veterinary Assistant

Her roots begin here in the captivating Grand Junction area. She's known from a young age that she wanted to work with animals and has been growing in the veterinary medical field for over 10 years. She has experience with a wide variety of animals, from delicate hamsters to the beefiest cattle. Her biggest joy is making a positive difference in the lives of not only the animals she correlates with, but also their pet-parents!

When away from the MVVH team, she spends an abundance of time enjoying the local scenery with her husband and their 2 dogs- Diego, a Chihuahua/ Pomeranian mix and Atlas an Pitbull/ Labrador mix. Tiffany and her husband recently welcomed their first child, a daughter, into their fun loving family. 


Veterinary Assistant

Trisha, has always had a huge compassion for animals! She received her Veterinary Assisting Certification in 2020 from PIMA Medical Institute in Arizona. She joined the MVVH team in early 2022. She is prepared for anything that comes her way and is always seeking growth!  Trisha is a Colorado native. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her two dogs in the outdoors, the mountains, camping, fishing and being active.
